Guppy Lures are some of the finest wooden plugs on the market today. They are handcrafted here in the U.S.A. by people who spend all of their time thinking about fishing. Our passion is topwater fishing and we have worked tirelessly to craft what we believe are the best Pencil Poppers and Poppers available. We use top quality woods and industry-leading components which we couple with our strict standard of quality to create plugs that work, cast and catch fish with consistency.  

Building lures started as a hobby for the Hess Family and morphed quickly into an accidental business. Taking queues from some of the classic plugs of yesteryear and adding in their knowledge of fishing the boiling currents of the Cape Cod Canal, they came up with a repertoire of designs that cast like rockets and work great in just about every surfcasting situation. With sizes and weights to fit every need, the Guppy lineup of Pencil Poppers and Poppers have become staples in anglers' arsenals from Cape Ann to the Cape Cod Canal, throughout Rhode Island, Long Island and New Jersey and now they've even begun to take hold on the west coast! It's amazing what can be achieved in 10 years!
